OUR WEBSITE PROJECT PROCESS:

It starts with discovery.

First things first – we’ll sit down and talk with you to clarify your goals and objectives, assess the needs of your audience and begin to determine how best to position your brand in the digital environment. We’ll also do a technology assessment and an audit of your existing assets (images, content, hosting etc.) and determine what technology is the best fit for you.

And we’ll put all of this in a client brief – a document that we will continue to check back against throughout the process to make sure the project remains on track.

The project is plotted out.

Once we have a clear understanding of what needs to be built and how it needs to function, we enter the digital blueprinting stage.

We create a Site Map to define the organization of the your site’s content. It will outline the main navigation, the hierarchy of pages and allow us to examine how best to direct and channel site traffic.

We generate some Page Specs to define what information needs to be captured, generated or displayed, and on what pages.

We create Wireframes, which are really blueprints for each page of your site.  You’ll see where elements and content will be positioned on all devices (desktop, tablet, smartphones), allowing you to establish content priorities, blocks and navigation.

We develop a Content Outline for your site, based on the site map and information architecture. This outline can be completed by you or a copywriter. Note: the #1 reason for project delay is the developing/aggregating content stage.

It’s design time.

With all of the thinking done, the foundation set, it’s time to design a unique site that enhances your brand and supports your business goals and visitor requirements. You’ll be presented with mockups of different options and designs to view and we’ll work with you through revisions until you’re confident your site will look awesome on all web-connected devices – from desktops to smartphones.

With the architecture and design determined, now things get technical and it’s time to put all those digital girders, beams and trusses in place. Depending on the Content Management System (CMS) that is used, this phase may include custom programming and template design using HTML, CSS, PHP, JAVA, JQUERY, as well as databases, secure logins, and e-commerce systems.

Testing, 1, 2, 3…

Making sure your website works exactly how you need it to before you launch it is absolutely critical. We’ll go through it, top to bottom a bunch of times to make sure it conforms to technology industry standards. And then we’ll enlist people to test the site and make sure everything is working as planned.

3, 2, 1… Launch!

When your site is ready to go live, we’ll flip the switch, high-five and then provide you with some training (in person and/or step-by-step documentation) for ongoing maintenance.
